Best TV Shows You Are Probably Not Watching

You might be wondering what Curry Bear is up to recently or why Curry Bear hasn’t posted a lot of content. It’s because Curry Bear has been watching a lot of TV. And he’s not watching bear sex on Animal Planet. Curry Bear has been catching up on TV shows he didn’t get time to Tivo. In fact, Curry Bear is angry that a lot of people are missing out on some good television on TV. Too many people watch crappy shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Lost, while good shows are being ignored. It is time for Curry Bear to set you all straight, even if you already have a girlfriend. Here’s a list of 4 TV shows that Curry Bear recommends you start watching. This is not a “Top TV Show” list; it is simply a list of 4 shows that suffer from bad ratings or a bad time slot – these are shows that don’t receive the credit they deserve. You are welcome to add more to the list if you like.

entourage.jpgEntourage – Curry Bear’s favorite show on HBO returns after going on hiatus mid-season. Simply put, this show is the guy’s version of Sex and the City. This half-hour comedy show is currently in it’s third season. The premise of this show deals with a young Hollywood star on the rise, his three friends (which include his half-brother and his two best friends) and his agent, Ari Gold. What makes this show fun to watch is the way the characters interact with each other and the snappy lines thrown by his agent. If you love Dr. House or Dr. Cox from Scrubs, then you will love Ari Gold. Basically, if you’re a guy and hang out with other guys, you will love this show. If the girls have Sex and the City, the men have Entourage. Curry Bear highly recommends you watch this show.

The DVDs for season 1 & 2 are available for a cheap price. Or you can steal them from the torrents. Either way, you cannot miss this show.

scrubs.jpgScrubs – This is in Curry Bear’s opinion, the best live-action comedy show on television. With quirky characters and great actors, Scrubs could have been NBC’s next Seinfeld. It did well in the ratings, but it never became as popular as it should be. Scrubs deals with the lives of med students as they start their residency. Currently in it’s 6th season, the characters in this show have evolved quite a bit from their first season. What makes this show great? Here’s the list:
- All the actors are amazing in their roles
- Curry Bear has yet to see an episode of Scrubs where he didn’t laugh at least 5 times
- Dr. Cox insults people like no one else in this world
- The janitor and the weird things he does to the protagonist JD
- The Todd – the horniest surgeon alive
Why should you watch this show? Well, if you’re doing anything related to the medical field in real life, this show will have some appeal to you. But more than that, each episode provides a lesson, which coincidentally was copied by the writers of Grey’s Anatomy. In fact, the concept of Grey’s Anatomy came after the producers saw Scrubs and said to themselves, “We should try to make a medical show just like Scrubs, remove the funny parts, put in pretty actors with no acting skills, and provide some fortune-cookie type lessons.”

house.jpgHouse – OK, so a lot of people watch House, so Curry Bear should make it clear that this show doesn’t suffer from bad ratings nor a bad time slot. But more people need to be informed about House because there are some med students who’d learn more from this show than a textbook. This is another great show that is somewhat far fetched, but a great way to learn things. The great thing about House is that you don’t have to watch it from the beginning. You can catch any episode in the middle of the day and you’ll enjoy it. But the person that really makes this show worth watching is actor Hugh Laurie. Not only does this British actor pull off an American accent, but he’s really fun to watch because he is extremely mean. Dr. House is a serious version of Dr. Cox from Scrubs. In fact, Curry Bear wishes Scrubs and House were on the same network so they could do a cross-over. And if you don’t know what House is about, it’s basically Sherlock Holmes mixed with medicine. Each week Dr. House receives a patient at the Princeton Plainsboro hospital whose illness is a mystery. Dr. House and his team of wiz doctors try to figure out what’s happening to the patient before he dies. Of course, no one can figure out what’s wrong until Dr. House has to go to extreme lengths and make us think that he is killing the patient, but only to find out that he saves them. This is a great medical mystery show and very unique – it’s like CSI, but the victims actually stay alive. And it’s a great way to learn some things. Here are some things Curry Bear learned from watching House:
- A lumbar puncture involves sticking a needle in someone’s back
- Don’t eat bad pork or your brain won’t work
- People always lie
- God probably doesn’t exist
- It’s never lupus

theshield.jpgThe Shield – Hands down, this is the finest show on television. You may be asking, “But Curry Bear, what about 24?” Well, 24 is a great show and Curry Bear thinks Jack Bauer is bigger than Jesus. But The Shield is an extremely well made show that hits you harder than a brick falling from the Empire State building. This show is about as real as it gets. Forget about your local campus Public Safety cops – those are toy cops. The Shield portrays real cops in real world situations. The show is so gritty and hard that it makes you depressed. This show is not for the weak hearted. This show is for real men (and tough chicks). Curry Bear wouldn’t advise soft-hearted folks to watch this show. Some of the things portrayed on this show are the unthinkable things we hear about in real life (such as pregnant women getting their abdomen cut open and the baby snatched, gang wars and criminals, dirty cops, drug trafficking, serial killers who rape grandmothers). If you believe the world is all goody-goody, this show is the slap-in-the-face you need to bring you back to reality. After watching this show, you won’t look at life the same way.
The show deals with detective Vic Mackey and his strike team, a special force put together as an experiment in one of the worst neighborhoods in California. Mackey is shown as a dirty cop but he still has a good heart. You end up cheering for the bad guy. Currently in it’s 6th season, The Shield will be over next season. Curry Bear highly recommends you getting the DVD boxset for this show; the episodes get you hooked and like Scrubs, you’ll never see a bad episode of The Shield. In fact, the finale of Season 5 was so intense that Curry Bear cried. Other than the plot lines involving Vic and his strike team, there are also other sub plots that deal with politics and murder mysteries. What makes this show more enjoyable is that it is filmed with a special type of lens that gives it a “real-life” feeling, as if you’re right there with the action. The Shield is definitely the finest television show that a lot of people aren’t watching.

Speaking of Heroes: last nights episode was really good. Just in case anyone missed it you should seriously catch the rerun on the SCI-FI channel, i forgot the time though. Mohinder is one hot desi! Thank God for desi boys. sorry for the rant

  11. moni says:

yes, but currybear mentioned HOUSE despite its high viewer ratings. and heroes always deserves a mention

  12. Dipps says:

Yes, but House is in competitions with Grey’s, since they’re both hospital-storyline oriented, and I think Grey’s wins that battle. So relatively speaking, House isn’t that viewed. Kinda like how CSI>Law and Order….but real gangstas watch Criminal Minds.

  13. Bunbuns says:

HOUSE!!!! i love that show! it’s so amazing. And Grey’s can’t compete cuz that show isn’t a real doctor show! its just a whole bunch of drama that has been filmed for loosers who have nothing better to do! Curry Bear, i knew you had great taste, but i like you so much more now that i know you like house =]
