Curry Bear finally got a chance to interview Jay Sean, the man whom I believe will take us desi guys to the promise land. And by promise land, I mean help me score with white chicks. Thanks to his music, girls will now look at me and think I’m sexy instead of picturing me as Apu from The Simpsons or a NYC cabbie. He also gave me permission to tell any white girl that I’m his cousin. Watch out ladies, here comes Bear Sean.
1. CB: Mr. Jay Sean, thanks for taking the time to do an interview with a fictional bear who runs a desi blog and congrats on your immense success. I’d like to start out by asking how you got signed with Cash Money Records?
JS: It was actually with the help of the internet! My producer/manager Jeremy Skaller showed Slim the ceo of Cash Money some of my vids online and Slim couldn’t believe that I hadn’t been released in America yet. So he flew me over to Miami to meet the fam and the rest is history!
2. Your single “Down” has received an intense amount of radio air time and is a favorite of many. But on your new album All or Nothing, which is personally your favorite track(s)?
JS: Oh man I have so many favorites but if I have to pick, it’d be between Do You and All or Nothing.
3. With all your success, have you met any crazy fans? Have you ever had a stalker or have someone steal your boxers?
JS: My boxers?! I hope not. Wouldn’t wanna know how they could get a hold of those! Lol I have had a girl throw her bra at me on stage tho!
4. We saw your first Bollywood appearance in the movie Kya Kool Hai Hum alongside Juggy D and Veronica. Can you tell us if we’ll be seeing more of Jay Sean in Bollywood?
JS: Anything is possible. I’m definitely open to it but it will just have to be the right role.
5. You got really fit and in shape for the video “Down”. What kind of steps did you take to get so fit? Did you take sexy pills? If yes, where can I get some because I need to overdose on those quickly.
JS: Hahaha sexy pills!!! I wish it were that easy. But thank you. I worked really hard with a trainer in the gym to get ready for that video. But I guess it was worth it.
6. Curry Bear would like to say that you’re a pioneer amongst South Asian artists. Your success will open doors for many other talented South Asian artists. What advice do you have for all the struggling artists out there who want to follow in your footsteps?
JS: Well first off thank you very much. And as for advice, never give up. And definitely don’t be scared of working hard. Sometimes its not easy to achieve your dreams but with hard work and faith, you can make things happen.
7. Some people on my site are saying that your success will make it easy for desi guys to get with white girls. What do you think about that? Also, is it cool if I start telling white girls that you’re my little cousin to get with them?
JS: Hey, whatever works for you!!! No but seriously, I think its cool. Music is supposed to bring people together.
8. Can you tell us about any upcoming new projects or events that your fans can look out for in the near future?
JS: I’m working on lots of stuff right now. The sky’s the limit. I wanna do everything from movies to cologne. I’m even working on a clothing line!
9. Now I know for sure you got some Bollywood in you. Name your favorite Bollywood movie and your favorite Bollywood actress. And the answer can’t be Kya Kool Hai Hum and Bipasha Basu.
JS: Haha. Favorite movie is Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. That will always be a classic. And favorite actress, I can’t pick just one! Priyanka Chopra and Kajol.
10. Finally, tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know. It can be anything. For example, I once called my friend at 3 AM to help me hide a dead body in the woods.
JS: Oh yeah. That’s just a normal saturday nite for me..lol. Well I can do impressions of loads of people. I do that often. Celebrities, my friends. I like acting a fool.
That’s right folks, Jay Sean is just another human being like you and me who likes to hide dead bodies in the woods at 3 AM on a Saturday night. But seriously, we’re joking. He is an awesome person and Curry Bear wishes him all the best.

Not going to lie. I was not a fan. But i do like this interview. I thought he was like all those other tools. But he was pretty humble and appreciative of the compliments. OK jay sean…i may not like your type of music but at least your a decent guy.

I think some of his impressions were on their youtube channel, along with Juggy D. They’re funny guys. He had a bit where he called out a guy for making him sign CDs that the guy had burnt off the internet…but he did sign them!
When are you coming back to Canadaaaaaaaa Jay Sean? I remember going to his show like 5 years ago, he’s better live than he seemed on the Ellen show. Keep up the good work!

I am so surprised at how cool he was in this interview. I mean this guy had the number 1 single in the country and here he is joking about sexy pills and burying dead bodies in the woods. I can’t even hate….i can’t even hate…and i want to so bad. lol

Perfect interview. He was funny, charming, he opened up, told information no one else knows, and was very humble and appreciative of the compliments. It’s like he’s been trained in how to give a good interview.

we got kal penn working for the white house. we got aamir khan about to be one of the best light welterweight champs of all time…we got imran khan comming up and jay himself on the top 100 billboards. Redunk! The fact that he’s so nice and cool makes you feel good. it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.
I just hope the fame does not get to him. Like he ends up cheating on his wife like tiger woods, or does drugs. Desi kids finally have someone to look up to and he really needs to realize he’s a role model. He seems like such a nice guy in this interview, which makes me feel good about letting my kids listen to him. I hope he stays that way and doesn’t get eaten by the fame monster. Good job on the interview to both Jay and Curry.
