Bollywood Getting Sued

So people have been talking to Curry Bear about this Indian movie getting sued for plagiarism. The movie is called Partner and it stars Salman Khan and Govinda. Although Govinda has been out of acting for a while, he is still one of Curry Bear’s favorite comedic actors and for that we like him. But once he went into politics, he lost some dude-points from C-Bear.
The movie Partner is a complete copy of the movie Hitch, which Curry Bear remembers watching on Valentine’s Day with a girl who got pregnant and had an abortion. Moral of the story: don’t watch movies on Valentine’s Day if you are pro-life. But seriously, why did somebody just start noticing now that Bollywood has been copying Hollywood movies? I mean, this stuff has been going on since Curry Bear can remember. In fact, Curry Bear distinctly remembers back when he was a child in the 80’s (even though some say Curry Bear is older than Jesus) when he would watch an American movie, and if it was a hit, an Indian version would come out in months. Months! It takes Bollywood less time to copy and produce a movie than it takes for a couple to have a child.
Should they sue Indian movies for copying Hollywood movies? Well if they start suing now, then they better get Doc Brown, go back to 1955 and start suing just about every movie that comes out. Every year Bollywood copies at least a dozen American as well as movies from other nations. We all know it, but most of us don’t care. It’s like prostitution in Las Vegas – it’s illegal but no one cares. If they really want to sue Partner, then they should sue the guy who picked out the pink blazer for Salman Khan. However, I do hope that some of the Hollywood producers succeed because maybe Bollywood might stop producing crappy remakes of American movies and start producing original content. But Bollywood can still make funny remakes of American movies. For example, C-Bear has heard that the recently released movie “Hey Baby” is funny, even though it is a complete copy of “Three Men and A Baby”. And remember Chachi 420? That was a copy of Mrs. Doubtfire, but still funny. Curry Bear feels that Bollywood movies getting sued is an issue that is similar to abortion – some will be for it and some will be against it. And just like abortion, someone will die after watching a Karan Johar movie. So C-Bear leaves it up to you to decide whether suing Bollywood movies is right or should it be left alone.
