Curry Bear’s Girls Night Out – Unladylike
Curry Bear is starting a new category on this site – Girls Night Out. I will start documenting all the fun stuff I do with my girls on weekends and share those stories. I hope this helps you out on those nights when you’re stuck at home with nothing better to do and you decide to watch Kuch Kuch Hota Hai for the 980989080th time.
Recently I was invited to check out a comedy show in New York City. I don’t want to brag (OK I do want to brag) but because I’m Curry Bear, I get invited to a lot of things. I get invited to interview Jay Sean, Sunny Leone’s porn star party in LA, every Gujju wedding in New Jersey and sometimes random girls from Rutgers University invite me back to their dorms. A friend on Twitter recommended that I check out Radhika Vaz’s show titled “Unladylike”. I got in contact with Radhika and she invited me to check out her show by offering free tickets. Since I had two free tickets, I asked a lady friend if she wanted to go check it out. On a nice Saturday night in New York City, we both made our way to The Producer’s Club.
I have to be honest, I didn’t know what Radhika’s show was about. Usually I do research before I get involved in something but I didn’t get a chance to read up much on Radhika. Plus, I’ve been kind of busy sleeping around in Hollywood to replace Charlie Sheen in Two And A Half Men. I arrived at The Producer’s Club, got my tickets and grabbed drinks with my lady friend. I figured if Radhika’s show wasn’t good, I could at least get my lady friend drunk enough to sleep with me. I kidd, I kidd.
We walked into a tiny theater that seated around 20 people. With drinks in my hand, the light went dim and the show began. I don’t even have words to describe what followed next. No wait, I do have words to describe it. That’s why I’m writing this entry! The show’s title, “Unladylike”, lives up to every bit of that name. Radhika gets on stage and continues this amazing comedy routine which had me laughing so hard that a I did end up releasing a few drops of pee in my boxers. I like to think of her routine as a comedy stand-up/monologue.
So what is the show about? Well, Radhika tells you stories and experiences from her life. She covers topics such as tampons, masturbation, virginity, chopping off your husband’s dick, getting a Brazilian wax, blowjobs, farting and many more taboo subjects. It’s about as “unladylike” as it gets. I found every bit of her dialog hilarious, but I could tell from the audience reaction that the women loved it. Of course I can’t relate to things like tampons or a Brazilian wax (not yet at least), but I could see from my lady friend’s reaction that she understood exactly what she is talking about. Her comedic timing is brilliant and she has some amazing one-liners in her skit. I was laughing so hard, I lost track of time. Radhika captured my attention from her first statement all the way to the very end. I mean Radhika held my attention so well that I forgot to slip roofies into my lady friend’s drink. I don’t want to sound sexist, but female comedians don’t get the same laughs out of me as their male counterparts. But Radhika Vaz got more laughs out of me than any other female comedian I’ve come across.
Ladies, instead of going bar-hopping or clubbing on a Saturday night and dealing with grimy guys, grab a bunch of your girls and go check out “Unladylike”. I guarantee you that you will laugh so hard that your rib cage will hurt. If you’re pregnant, then please don’t watch this show because you might kill your baby by laughing too hard. But this in no way means that Radhika’s show is strictly for women. Guys will enjoy the show because believe me, I enjoyed it and I’m about the manliest bear out there. I can’t hype this show enough. Please don’t be lazy and miss this. This is a show you must check out if you’re in New York City. It is truly unique and I can’t wait to go back and check it out a second time. The Producer’s Club has a cash-bar so after the show is over, you can grab a few drinks and have a chat with Radhika herself.
