Is Shah Rukh Khan’s detention a publicity stunt?
As many of you may have heard, Shah Rukh Khan was detained and questioned at Newark airport. According to reports, SRK said he was hassled and questioned by authorities at the airport. SRK was waiting for his luggage when security pulled him aside after his name popped up on the computer screen. Unfortunately, no one asked him why he still chooses to make horrible movies.
I believe that this is most likely a publicity stunt by SRK to promote his new film, My Name is Khan. Coincidentally, the movie is about a Muslim man who is arrested and detained by authorities. Of course any publicity created from this incident is going to help his movie.
What I don’t get is that since 9/11, SRK has traveled numerous times to America for shows and events. But he just happens to have a problem with airport security when he decides to make a movie on the same topic? That would be like my sex buddy telling me she is pregnant the day I decide to get a vasectomy. There are a lot of coincidences in this world, but not many coincidences have a box office success
I would find this story believable if it happened it an airport in Texas or Alabama. But it happened in Newark airport. The number of Indian people traveling through Newark airport is nothing compared to the number of Indians working there. If you don’t believe me, then come visit me bitch. How can a famous Indian actor get stopped at an airport that employs so many Indians? Didn’t any uncle or auntyji try to tell the authorities that this man is a famous actor and not some terrorist?
On top of all this, SRK needs this movie to be successful. He just signed a deal worth Rs. 1 billion with FOX Studios. If you follow Bollywood like I do, SRK’s last two movies (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Billu) were not as successful as some of his other movies. He needs this one to be a big hit as Om Shanti Om. I heard that even President Barack Obama is in this movie! OK it’s not really him, it’s just another black actor.
